Belarus begins receiving tactical nuclear weapons from Russia, President Alexander Lukashenko says

Belarus has began to obtain tactical nuclear weapons from Russia, its chief has stated.

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko informed Russian state TV that his nation is taking supply of the weapons, a few of which he stated had been thrice extra highly effective than the atomic bombs the US dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945.

“We have missiles and bombs that we have received from Russia,” he stated in an interview.

It comes after Mr Lukashenko appeared to contradict Vladimir Putin over their potential use.

The Russian chief had emphasised that Moscow will retain management of their use, however Mr Lukashenko stated he would not hesitate to make use of them if Belarus confronted aggression.
