Boy, 15, who died after being pulled from sea in ‘tragic incident’ named
Police have named the 15-year-old who drowned on Monday night as David Ejimofor. The teen, from Aberavon, was rushed to the Princess of Wales Hospital in Bridgend after being discovered and pulled from the water close to Aberavon Beach, Port Talbot, shortly after 7.10pm on Monday.
Despite one of the best efforts of medical employees, he was later pronounced useless on the hospital.
South Wales Police stated they’re persevering with to analyze what they referred to as a “sad and tragic incident”.
Detective Inspector Carl Price stated: “We continue to interview witnesses and gather evidence to establish the circumstances that led to this very sad and tragic incident.
“We are working with companions to assist these affected and our ideas are with David’s household and associates.”
Tributes for young David have already started to pour in. The headteacher of St Joseph’s Catholic School in Port Talbot, Eugene Scourfield, said: “We are deeply saddened by the news of the tragic and surprising passing away of one in all our Year 11 pupils.”
The headteacher added support services are in place in the school, and asked people to “hold the household in your prayers”.
The Labour MP for Aberavon, Stephen Kinnock, said David’s death was a “big tragedy”.
He added: “It has been heartening to see our neighborhood ship a lot like to this younger man’s household.”

Sean Pursey, Neath Port Talbot councillor for Sandfields East, addressed the misery David’s friends should be experiencing.
He stated: “My ideas are with all of the pupils at this time, dropping a good friend in circumstances like this can be troublesome for them.
“Having lost a friend quite young, it gets a little easier over time, but you never forget and always carry them with you.”
Local councillor Matthew Crowley additionally prolonged his condolences to {the teenager}’s household, hours earlier than David had been named.
