A preferred seashore in Merseyside was evacuated after the invention of “potential wartime ordinance”. Ainsdale seashore in Sefton has been closed since this morning after the dramatic discovery, with half the seashore remaining closed as an investigation is launched.

Emergency providers and Sefton council closed the seashore together with the Shore Road entrance.
