France’s highest administrative jurisdiction mentioned Thursday the nation’s soccer federation is entitled to ban headscarves in matches.
The Council of State issued its ruling after a collective of headscarf-wearing soccer gamers referred to as “Les Hijabeuses” — the phrase hijab refers back to the scarf — campaigned in opposition to the ban and launched authorized motion.
