Family title BBC presenter ‘paid teenager for sexually specific images’

The BBC has mentioned it takes “any allegations very seriously” following claims that one in every of its male presenters paid a youngster greater than £35,000 for sexually specific images.

The unnamed “household name” allegedly first requested photos from the youth once they had been aged 17 again in 2020 and has made a collection of funds through the years, in response to The Sun.

It mentioned the BBC has now launched an investigation and brought the star off air after the household made a grievance on 19 May.

No one concerned has been named.

The mom of the youth, now aged 20, instructed the newspaper that she had seen checking account statements exhibiting funds totalling greater than £35,000 – together with one lump sum of £5,000.

She claimed the presenter requested “performances” and that her offspring had used the money to fund an habit to crack cocaine – which had “destroyed” their life.

“All I want is for this man to stop paying my child for sexual pictures and stop him funding my child’s drug habit,” she instructed The Sun.

In a press release, a BBC spokesperson mentioned: “We treat any allegations very seriously and we have processes in place to proactively deal with them.

“As a part of that, if we obtain info that requires additional investigation or examination we’ll take steps to do that.

“That includes actively attempting to speak to those who have contacted us in order to seek further detail and understanding of the situation.”

They added: “If we get no reply to our attempts or receive no further contact that can limit our ability to progress things but it does not mean our enquiries stop.

“If, at any level, new info involves mild or is offered – together with by way of newspapers – this might be acted upon appropriately, in step with inner processes.”
