Boyzone’s Keith Duffy pays tribute after Ronan Keating’s brother Ciaran dies in automotive crash
Boyzone star Keith Duffy has paid tribute to the late brother of Ronan Keating.
Ciaran Keating, who was in his 50s, died in a car crash in County Mayo, within the west of Ireland, on the weekend.
It is known his spouse was injured within the collision, which reportedly occurred as they have been travelling to look at their son Ruairí play soccer for his membership, Cork City.
Ronan Keating, who now presents The One Show, has “dropped everything” to assist his household, in response to a supply quoted by The Sun newspaper.
After Ciaran Keating’s demise was confirmed by Cork City on social media, Duffy shared a tribute alongside a picture of a candle on Instagram, saying he couldn’t “comprehend the loss” nor the devastation his former bandmate and the household have been feeling.
“All my family are praying and thinking of our Keating family right now,” Duffy wrote, including that Ciaran had “toured with us” and was a “great guide on our journey in the early days”.
He continued: “You helped and supported us young innocent kids. Take your place in heaven buddy with your Mam Marie.”
Marie Keating was identified with breast most cancers in 1996, and died lower than 18 months later in February 1998 aged 51.
Her household – together with Ronan, Ciaran, daughter Linda and two different sons, Gerard and Gary – arrange the Marie Keating Foundation in her reminiscence.
A supply quoted by The Sun stated Ronan, 46, had been left “devastated” by the news of his brother’s demise.
“It’s the phone call no one wants to take about their loved ones,” the supply instructed the newspaper. “Ronan dropped everything as soon as he heard the devastating news.
“He is attempting to remain sturdy for the sake of the household and is doing every little thing he can to assist his sister-in-law and his nephews.”
In their tribute, Cork City stated: “We extend our deepest sympathies to Ruairí and the entire Keating family at this exceptionally difficult time.
“We ask that the household’s privateness be revered. Funeral preparations can be confirmed sooner or later.
“May he rest in peace.”
The two-vehicle accident occurred in Ballymiles, close to Swinford, at about 3.35pm on Saturday.
The male driver of the second automobile was taken to Mayo University Hospital to obtain remedy for severe accidents, a Garda spokesperson stated.
