HOYLAKE, England — Open Championship chief Brian Harman has revealed he was heckled throughout his third spherical at Royal Liverpool on Saturday. Harman has emerged as the person to catch this week, having burst from the pack to carry a four-shot lead heading into the weekend.

And he solely added to this in Saturday’s third spherical, capturing a strong two-under-par 69 to increase his result in 5 over fellow countryman Cameron Young. Despite impressing out on the Wirral it appears Harman just isn’t everyone’s favorite.

After finishing his third spherical on Saturday night, the 36-year-old admitted he was topic to verbal abuse by a bit of the Hoylake crowd. Harman stated: “You know, I’d be mendacity if I did not hear some issues that weren’t tremendous good as we speak in direction of me.

Harman played alongside home fan favourite Tommy Fleetwood on Saturday and was not surprised to see the large majority of support pledged toward the local man. Being a friend of Fleetwood’s though, Harman was happy to see the locals pulling his way.

“Tommy and I have been friends for a long time,” the championship chief added. “I knew he was from round right here, so I’m not saying I used to be completely ready for it, however I knew that he would have lots of assist.
