“It’s amazing it didn’t come off on its own but I think she was pushing it on as she was walking. It wasn’t on too tight but it took a bit of wiggling.

“There’s no wound or something like that however I’m unsure if she’s bruised.

“And by walking like that it’s possible her shoulder is sore. I suspect she jumped around when it first went on which could have tweaked the shoulder.

“The mug should have been the proper dimension for her foot. It’s a type of journey mugs that’s good and agency steel, fortunately there is no jagged edges.

“I don’t understand the mentality of people ruining the place by chucking litter around.

Agister Mr Maton, 45, from Longdown in the New Forest, also warned tourists. He said: “The foal was very lucky it did not break its leg. It solely takes one twist or flip and its leg may have damaged.

“People need to be aware everyone is entitled to come down to the Forest but remember to take away everything you brought with you.”
