Perseid meteor bathe in photos – how annual occasion peaked world wide

Stargazers have been handled to the height of the annual summer season Perseid meteor bathe over the weekend.

Bright meteors lit up the night time sky world wide, caused by debris from comet Swift-Tuttle slamming into Earth’s atmosphere at 130,000mph.

Parts of the UK have been let down by the climate, although, as cloudy circumstances spoiled the view.

Sky News has assembled a number of the finest photographs for individuals who missed out, displaying how the fireballs streaked by the sky from Austria to Argentina.
