In addition to the 16 core launch maps, Modern Warfare 3 will launch with four huge environments containing a “host of recent play areas”.

Activision has promised to release a further 12 core 6v6 maps in the weeks and months after launch.

In terms of gameplay, Activision unveiled the new Tac-Stance system, which is designed for tactical close-quarters combat.
