Florence And The Machine singer has ‘life saving’ surgical procedure after cancelling gigs

Florence Welch has revealed she had life-saving emergency surgical procedure after being pressured to cancel gigs.

The Florence And The Machine singer, 36, posted on Instagram on Sunday to say she “had to have emergency surgery for reasons I don’t really feel strong enough to tell you yet”.

“It saved my life,” she added.

It comes six days after she revealed an X-ray had proven she was “dancing on a broken foot” and needed to cancel her appearances at Rock en Seine in Paris and the Zurich Open Air Festival.

She initially broke her foot throughout a efficiency on the O2 Arena in London in November and needed to postpone tour dates, leaving her “heartbroken”.

In her most up-to-date publish, she promised she would honour her remaining two Dance Fever tour dates in Lisbon and Malaga in September.

But she added: “Maybe not jumping so much but you can do that for me.”

Welch – whose band’s hits embody Shake It Out and Dog Days Are Over – beforehand cancelled a pair of festival gigs in 2012 to keep away from completely damaging her voice.
