“Those first four games went on for about 37 minutes and you realise it’s going to be a physical battle, and you wonder whether Murray might have been better trying to move forward a little bit,” Henman added.
“But I think that’s where Dimitrov got it absolutely spot on and said ‘I am going to stay in these rallies and I am not going to give you too much pace, I am going to say to you Andy Murray you have got to come up with the offensive play’, we have seen so many times in Murray’s career where he just soaks it up, keeps the ball back in play and then his opponent makes the unforced errors.
“But today it was Murray when you look at the unforced error-to-win ratio, it was a big negative as he missed a lot more shots. Once you get behind and you’re down a set and the momentum is not with you, Dimitrov is not giving you anything, Andy didn’t play his best but I think Dimitrov is the one that deserves a massive amount of credit.”
