
Wilko to chop 1,332 extra jobs and shut 52 shops subsequent week

dministrators for Wilko have introduced 1,332 additional job cuts on the stricken excessive avenue retailer.
The GMB union, which represents greater than 3,000 Wilko staff, stated it has been knowledgeable that 1,016 jobs shall be axed throughout 52 Wilko shops.
It added that 24 of those websites will shut on Tuesday September 12, and the remaining 28 shall be closed two days later.
Meanwhile, there shall be an additional 299 redundancies throughout two warehouse websites in Worksop and Newark.
There shall be an additional 17 redundancies affecting help centre workers engaged on Wilko’s digital operations.
These redundancies are along with the 269 introduced final week.
The announcement comes hours after rival B&M confirmed it might purchase as much as 51 Wilko shops for round £13 million.
