Sunak hails ‘right deal for country’ as UK rejoins EU’s Horizon science programme
he UK is to return to the European Union’s £85 billion Horizon science analysis programme following months of negotiations.
The Government mentioned a “bespoke” new settlement has been signed off with the EU, with UK researchers in a position to apply for grants and participate in Horizon initiatives.
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak mentioned: “We have worked with our EU partners to make sure that this is right deal for the UK, unlocking unparalleled research opportunities, and also the right deal for British taxpayers.”
Britain continued to take part beneath the post-Brexit commerce deal brokered with Brussels however was frozen out in a tit-for-tat retaliation in a dispute over Northern Ireland preparations.
