Pigeons discovered tied up in Glasgow in ‘weird spate of incidents’
The Scottish SPCA is interesting for info following a “bizarre spate of incidents” the place pigeons had been discovered tied up in Glasgow’s Southside.

The Scottish SPCA was alerted to the most recent incident on 3 September after a member of the general public found a chicken close to Calder Street.
It was discovered with thread wrapped tightly round its legs, which lower off circulation. The chicken needed to be put to sleep.
The caller reported that that they had additionally discovered three different pigeons tied to a fence in close by Allison Street, which that they had managed to free.
Lesley Boyce, Scottish SPCA appearing chief inspector, mentioned: “We’ve had several calls regarding pigeons found in similar circumstances in the area, beginning in April of this year.
“When our animal rescue officer attended this incident, the pigeon had black thread wrapped round their legs.
“Sadly, the thread was wound so tightly that it had cut off circulation to the pigeon’s legs and the bird had to be put to sleep to prevent further suffering.”
