Sara Sharif’s father, stepmother and uncle arrested on suspicion of homicide
Sara Sharif’s father, stepmother and uncle have been arrested on suspicion of homicide in reference to the demise of the 10-year-old lady.
In an announcement, Surrey Police detective superintendent Mark Chapman stated: “Two males, aged 41 years and 28 years, and a girl, aged 29 years, had been arrested on suspicion of homicide after disembarking a flight from Dubai.
“They are currently in custody and will be interviewed in due course.”
The three arrived at Gatwick airport simply after 7.30pm on an Emirates flight from Pakistan, by way of Dubai. They had been then taken to Guildford police station.
The lady’s father Urfan Sharif, stepmother Beinash Batool and uncle Faisal Malik are believed to have travelled to Pakistan on 9 August and had been being looked for by police within the nation.
Sara was discovered useless at her house in Woking, Surrey, on 10 August after a person figuring out himself as her father referred to as 999 from Pakistan.
Mr Chapman stated Sara’s mom had been knowledgeable of the arrests.
“Our thoughts remain with her and those affected by Sara’s death at this very difficult time,” he added.
“This has been a particularly fast-moving, difficult and sophisticated enquiry and we stay completely dedicated to conducting an intensive investigation into Sara’s demise.
“We will not be commenting any further at this point and will provide further updates as and when we are able to.”
In a video shared final week with Sky News, Ms Batool described Sara’s demise as an “incident”.
