Jon Rahm’s LIV Golf dig appears to be like set to hang-out him as Ryder Cup ace seals £450m deal
Jon Rahm has made an earth-shattering change from the PGA Tour to LIV Golf in a transfer that may internet the Spaniard an unbelievable £450m, and with it dragging up a sequence of awkward earlier feedback made by the 29-year-old.
The Masters champions’ defection comes regardless of Rahm beforehand claiming that he didn’t like golf’s fixed concentrate on cash and was extra involved with successful the largest prizes within the sport.
However this doesn’t appear to be the case.
The Spaniard might in all probability be forgiven for giving the transfer immediate consideration given the whopping £450million payment that’s reportedly concerned. But being motivated by cash is one thing that Rahm has beforehand dismissed.
Whilst competing within the TOUR Championship at East Lake Golf Course in Atlanta, Georgia again in August, Rahm advised reporters (as per the Golf Channel): “It’s one of the things that frustrates me about watching this broadcast. Like, we’re not thinking if we miss a putt how much it’s going to cost us money-wise. No chance. Like, none whatsoever.
“You’re trying to finish as high as possible. You’re trying to win a tournament. “It’s one of my pet peeves when they make this tournament all about money because I think it takes away from it.
“When you win a green jacket [at the Masters], I can tell you right now that any major champion this year might not remember how much money they made. And that’s the beauty about this game and I think that’s kind of how it should be.
“Obviously, I’m saying that being in an extremely privileged position, financially. And at that point, from first or second you’re making a ton of money. So it’s more about winning than the prize itself.”
