Man arrested in reference to girl’s loss of life on New Year’s Day

A person has been arrested following the loss of life of a girl in East Lothian on New Year’s Day.

Police have been known as to a property on Craigleith Avenue in North Berwick at about 8.20am on Monday following a “report of concern”.

Emergency providers attended and a 33-year-old girl was pronounced useless on the scene.

Police Scotland mentioned a 37-year-old man has been arrested in reference to the loss of life.

A power spokesperson added: “Enquiries are continuing.”
