Minibus carrying soccer followers overturns in West Yorkshire crash with 17 folks injured

Seventeen folks had been taken to hospital, together with seven with severe accidents, after a minibus carrying soccer followers overturned in West Yorkshire.

Police had been known as after a collision involving the Iris single decker minibus and a black Skoda Fabia on the A1 close to Pontefract on Saturday night.

A 3rd car, a white automobile, which has not but been recognized, can also be thought to have been concerned.

The minibus was carrying South Shields FC followers coming back from a match with Tamworth.

The membership posted on X: “Our thoughts go out to the supporters involved in a crash on the way home from today’s game.

“At this second of time we have now no additional particulars, nonetheless we hope everyone seems to be secure and recovering.”

South Shields misplaced 3-2 to Tamworth within the penultimate match of the Vanarama National League North season on Saturday on the Staffordshire membership’s Lamb Ground.

Parts of the motorway had been closed till Sunday morning as emergency providers, together with Yorkshire Air Ambulance, attended the scene.

West Yorkshire Police are interesting for data together with sprint cam footage regarding the crash or the unidentified white automobile.

“There were 17 people injured and taken to hospital for treatment, with seven of those thought to have suffered serious injuries,” the power mentioned in an announcement.

“Enquiries into the circumstances regarding the collision remain ongoing with officers from the Roads Policing Unit.”
