England have received the toss and opted to bowl first within the opening fixture of their three-match ODI sequence towards Sri Lanka in Durham.
Following their shock defeat within the T20Is – it was England’s first bilateral sequence loss within the format to a facet aside from Australia since 2010 – Heather Knight, the house captain, urged her facet towards “going in our shells”. “Being really positive,” she added of how her group would method this match, having struggled specifically towards Sri Lanka’s spinners throughout the two matches they misplaced. “We’ve been off the pace a bit, to be honest.”
