Bereaved mums who misplaced their daughters name for a nationwide allergy tsar
Two moms whose daughters died from extreme allergic reactions are calling for a nationwide “allergy tsar”.
Tanya Ednan-Laperouse and Emma Turay instructed Health Secretary Steve Barclay that the women’ deaths “were entirely preventable” .
In a letter to the minister, they urged the Government to nominate “a champion for people with allergies”.
They stated that regardless of warnings from coroners a “lack of national leadership” over the problem risked lives.
They instructed Mr Barclay earlier Health Secretaries had ignored their plea for an allergy tsar, including: “We have come together for change so our tragedies never happen again.”

Natasha Ednan-Laperouse, 15, from Fulham, West London, died in July 2016 following a extreme allergic response to a Pret A Manger baguette containing sesame.
