Couple that gained £32m Lotto jackpot discover happiness with new loves

A pair who gained a £32.5m National Lottery jackpot and promised to stay ”Mr and Mrs boring and regular” have reportedly split up – but have found happiness with new partners who they are sharing their immense wealth with. 

Gerry and Lisa Cannings, who were both teachers in Peterborough, made headlines when they waited for more than a week before claiming their huge prize in 2016. While people say money can’t buy happiness, it would appear that the Cannings have found true joy with the new loves in their lives.

A friend told a national newspaper that suggestions “there was this dramatic cut up with affairs and issues” were simply not correct. “It couldn’t be farther from the reality,” they mentioned.  “The reality is Gerry and Lisa split and have both happily found new people to move on with.”     

The pal said that “it’s fantastic” that Gerry has “found someone to help him enjoy all those millions he’s got in the bank”, because he “isn’t known as much of a spender”. 

A neighbouring farmer said that the community was “chuffed” for Gerry, because “he’s a decent fella”  – but were “a bit envious that he doesn’t need to work”.

Meanwhile, a distinct buddy mentioned that Lisa has additionally discovered happiness – and is loving “the quiet life together with her down-to-earth new man”.  The friend said Lisa is “having fun with gardening and happening walks after years of slogging it out as a trainer”.

One of her neighbours said “it’s no secret” that Lisa has a new partner. Another said: “Good luck to them. They are good neighbours and keep themselves to themselves. It is a lovely, quiet village.”

Companies House data recommend that present Gerry and Lisa cut up through the Covid lockdown in 2020, reports The Sun. 

Back in 2016, Lisa defined why they took every week to assert their tens of millions. She mentioned: “I know it sounds mad but we had a guy in to paint the whole house.

“We’d been planning it for ages and had packed all the things into bins. We simply thought it could be simpler to attend, though it did imply that Gerry needed to carry around the profitable ticket in his pockets all week. It was very nerve-wracking.”
