Twitter’s engineering chief quits after launch of DeSantis’ presidential run

Twitter’s head of engineering has give up the platform only a day after the disastrous try to launch Ron DeSantis‘ presidential marketing campaign on the positioning.

His social media post did not reveal why he was leaving the company.

However, in a thread, Dabiri thanked colleagues for their work and friendship.

He wrote: “What a rare journey it has been.

“To say it was challenging at the outset would be an understatement. The change was massive and rapid; we came through and emerged stronger, thanks to the remarkable team that held the fort.

“Working with Elon Musk has been extremely academic, and it was enlightening to see how his ideas and imaginative and prescient are shaping the way forward for this firm.”

Dabiri reportedly studied for a PhD in computer science at the University of California in Los Angeles. He joined Google in 2001 before starting up a tech company called Wanda three years later.

He stepped down as Wanda CEO in April 2019, joining Twitter three months later. He said working at the tech company had been a “exceptional” experience.

He continued: “Twitter is a spot that defies comprehension. It’s distinctive, peculiar, exceptional, and resilient, all because of the good and succesful people who’ve constructed and proceed to form it.

“It’s impossible to grasp the inner workings of this platform and what goes on on a daily basis unless you’ve been fortunate enough to experience it firsthand. So kudos to the team that, despite all the outside noise, keep going and going strong.”

Musk is but to touch upon his departure.
